Grocery Shopping Ideas


Here are some of my favorite staple items for healthy meals and snacks!



•Greens and fresh vegetables for salads, snacks, lunch and dinners- frozen or fresh!

 (My favs are carrots and celery for mindless munching!)


•Fresh and/or frozen fruit-depending on the price, season, etc. (Frozen is great for smoothies)                


•Potatoes (sweet or regular), quinoa, spaghetti squash, bean/lentil pastas


•Oatmeal- 100% natural rolled oats (regular or steel cut)


•Nut Butters - all natural peanut butter, sunflower butter, almond butter etc.


•Nuts- Almonds, cashews, walnuts, or any other variety


•Seeds- sunflower, chia seeds, ground flax seed


•Brown rice cakes, high fiber crackers (favorite cracker brand- Mary’s Gone Crackers)


•Olive oil, coconut oil, vinegars (apple cider vinegar- great for dressings!)


Protein powder (for shakes and recipes)- I buy plant based- check ingredient list!


•Your favorite protein- chicken, turkey, beef etc.


•Almond milk (original, unsweetened), oat milk, coconut milk


•Edamame- frozen or fresh


•Tofu, tofu noodles (shirataki)


•Ezekiel sprouted grain bread or English Muffins (great complex carb with zero additives, made from sprouted grains)- usually frozen. 


•Any great frozen item that you can use in a pinch- Ex of my favs: veggie or plant based burgers, chicken or turkey burgers, frozen shrimp, cauliflower rice, vegetable medleys etc.  


•Beans (any variety), chickpeas (for meals or baking)


•Other pantry items (any spices or seasonings, mustard, low sugar ketchup, sundried tomatoes, cinnamon, cocoa, almond flour, nutritional yeast, coconut aminos, ghee, salsa)
